Yahoo was quietly lanched its news microblogging service Yahoo Meme. First Yahoo Meme was in Portuguse language. Second language was in Spanish. Yahoo's new product Yahoo Meme is now in English. This service draws similarities to Tumblr and Twitter. But, I think that Yahoo definitely has lofty ambitions for Yahoo Meme.
What is Yahoo Meme?
Yahoo Meme is a website where you may post, repost and share the contents you deem interesting. You can share everything you find that is interesting. Meme seems quick, easy and simple to share contents.
How does Yahoo Meme work?
After you click meme.yahoo.com, you see "already have access? sign in »" link. You create an acoount through this link and it starts you off with an empty blog. Now tou have an empty micro blog. You can fill it with text, videos, images music or a mixture of those things. You can add evertihing what you want to add - apart from the content - is a title, a 100-character description and an avatar. Besides, you can create a comment area under the content you post. (Comment thread was a future which was missing before at Yahoo Meme)
What can you do wtih Yahoo Meme?
You already know: You can search other people in Twitter, Tumblr or Facebook. And people can update their status. And these updates appears in the system. Yahoo Meme has same search functions like the others. Also, you can search other people's public accounts and if you want, you can follow them like in Twitter.
Anyone's entry can be reposted. This feature looks like reblogging system which is integrated in to Tumblr.

* Popular: When you click popular, you see 10 popular posts that are being reposted recently.
* Find: As we talked about above, you can see people at the this page. You can follow anyone by clicking "follow" link at the right side of his/her photo.
Future of Yahoo Meme
When you click Yahoo Meme, you see a text on the frontpage that has been written with big fonts: "Found the new Internet hit? Send it to your Meme". And "Everyone will know you found it first. Coming soon." What does Yahoo Meme aim with this? I think, Yahoo Meme will create a very big social network which is updated with hit news. People will send their founds and share at their blogs. In this way, Yahoo Meme will overflow with hit things. And after a short time, we will see a site that has a heavy traffic. I believe Yahoo definitely has lofty ambitions for Yahoo Meme.
I think we can't say that Yahoo Meme micro-blogging service is much better than its potantial competitors. But this service is pretty new. And I think Yahoo Meme will get ahead of its potantial competitors.
