Lunar Eclipse (Chandra Grahan)

Chandra Grahan known as Lunar Eclipse. It would be third one of the four lunar eclipses in this year, in which can be observed over Africa and Europe and South America countries, where it would be partially visible.

NASA reported that this eclipse won't  visible through naked eye. These all eclipse appeared one after other in a row.

 

February 2009: The first lunar eclipse was seen.

July 7: The second full moon eclipse was appeared.

August 6: The third eclipse will be seen.

In generaly, the lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon enters the Earth’s shadow or orbit.

What is Umbra?
The Moon’s shadow has two parts if total shadow appeared then it is known as the umbra.

What is Penumbra?
If it is the partial shadow then it is called as the penumbra.

The total lunar eclipse occurred when moon completely immersed into the umbra, while if only its some portion falls into the umbra, then a partial lunar eclipse occurs.
