Mayan Prophecy 2012

Is the Mayan prophecy The End of the World or A New Age in the history of humankind?

I think there is no one heard the Mayan prophecy, the World of the end on December 21st, 2012, agitating scientists, media communities and people all over the World. Is the World going to end on December 21st, 2012? Is the Mayan prophecy true?

According to some resources, the Earth ( or at least a large portion of humans and living creatures on the planet)  will cease to exist. Yes, you read correctly, it may be the end of the World. Maybe, we should stop planning our careers, buying new things and we should spend our time without worrying.


I know, it sounds crazy. But, we all heard this Mayan prophecy. Is the Mayan prophecy really true? Are we going to die?


We don't know the future. We can just predict about something. The Earth is like a living organism. It changes every second. If we could predict the future, we wouldn't be exposed to so many natural disasters.


Altough it is not possible to reach a definite conclusion about end of the Earth or 2012 Mayan prophecy, predictions on all over the internet have been caused concerns.


After a little bit search, I reached some information on wikipedia.org. There is a source on wikipedia about 2012 predictions. If you type "2012 Doomsday prediction" in the serchbox on wikipedia.org, you see that you are being redirected to "2012 phenomenon" topic from "2012 Doomsday prediction".

If you take a look at this article on the page, you see "New Age theories".  This theory makes more sense to me. Mayan prophecy may not be the end of the World. It may be a new age in the history of humankind.

Exactly how else would we be allowed to usher in a new age of man. An era totally alien to the dark age we have been living in for the past 1000 years? In 2012, humanity will be brought to its knees, humbled, to the the truths of the universe and by the forces of nature. Somehow it would be wiser to be proactive and prepare. In the face of the forces of the universe, reaction will be a bit lacking in effectiveness.

No question....change is the only constant; man only argues about the degree of change he is forced to deal with. The changes we are now experiencing will only continue to become more acute and destructive. Nothing new can arise until the old has been destroyed; a simple concept. This is NOT a good time to be living in a big metro complex where all life support systems, i.e., water, electric, food, freedom of movement, etc., are out of the hands of individuals. No, it is a better choice, in my opinion, to live in a rural setting; the benefits are obvious. I contend that in addition to the human chaotic behaviors that will increase there will be the rise of land that has renewed itself out of the oceans and the fall of land which has expended its life supportive viability. Major changes of unimaginable magnitude - those who remain will be the ones responsible for beginning again.
